We have had a busy time here in Miami, although we got off to a slow start — Jack slept from Miami approach till 9:30 am the next morning. On Monday we all went down to a local place called Parrot Jungle Island which is basically an animal park with lots of topical beasts. Jack had a good time, but it was really humid — especially for us Californians!

We spent much of Tuesday in doors, trying to stay cool and explored the city by car. We did go out for dinner and Jack attempted to conquer a foot-long hot dog.

Today we ventured out to the beach and got caught in a shower storm, but still got some time on the beach. After the ran cleared re regrouped and found a park for Jack to run around and use up some energy. Tomorrow we leave for Iowa, and while the heat will not be missed we will miss Mindi, Pete, Tucker and Jackson.

Today was our last day in Philadelphia had lunch with Jack’s Great Grandmom and Jean’s uncles before flying to Miami. Jack, powered through most of the day, but fell asleep on approach to Miami and continued to sleep (in his car seat) in the airport, baggage claim, waiting outside for Pete, being strapped into Pete’s car, driving to Mindi and Pete’s house and being transfered to the “pac&play”. We landed an hour and half ago and he is still sleeping — let’s hope it lasts till at least 8 am

Other than a torrential downpour on Friday the weather has been really nice for our visit. Jack is getting a lot of time outside, which puts everyone in a better mood. Tomorrow (Sunday) we visit with Jack’s Great Grandma and then get on a plane for Miami.

Here are the shots from Day 1, including our flight out. Jack did well on the the flights, although the 5 hour delay in Chicago about killed us all. The shots of Jack watching Dora on the PSP with Noise Canceling headphones are funny. Jack is having a blast with his cousins and is definitely favoring the parks in Philly over those in California. The park today had a little town that Jack was able to drive around.
